Cult Beauty – Autumn Goody Bag Happiness

Cult Beauty. The site where I spend more money I should, but where I would happily spend all my money if I could.

The arrival of a new season spells the arrival of something even more exciting – The Cult Beauty Goody Bag. A branded canvas bag containing a treasure trove of new discoveries and, as the name would suggest, ‘cult classics’. Getting your hands on the bag requires you to spend a minimum amount (£150) on products to then receive the bag of treats for free (worth £240), and if you manage to find yourself hitting pan on your fave products, it makes total sense to restock when this offer is available. Each bag tends to be themed, and this autumn’s theme is Global Beauty. Offering up the very best products the beauty world has to offer, from Brazilian shower cream to Australian brand Alpha-H (I CANNOT live without Liquid Gold), the bag is a great way to test and discover lesser known brands as well as stock up on travel sized essentials.

Cult Beauty is my go to retailer for most beauty products, but I definitely buy more skincare from the site than makeup. Turning 30 marked a turning point in how I look after my skin. I’ve always been reasonably good, SPF under makeup everyday since I was about 22 (I’m Irish and therefore turn a rather attractive shade of red in the sun), never go in the sun without sunglasses and a hat, and always take makeup off before bed. However, I remember coming across a magazine article a few years ago, titled, ‘Your skin at 20, 30, 40, 50…’ In a nutshell, it recommended using eye creams from 25…serums from 27…and referenced how it’s never too early to get on the acids and retinol bandwagon. Now, I try to take things like this with a pinch of salt, you read different things all the time of what you ‘should’ be doing, and whilst I thought I knew what was right for my skin, at the same time I did think I could step up my skincare regime a bit, so I did.

Enter Sunday Riley. Tata Harper. Sarah Chapman. Alpha-H. Brands with products I’m now not sure I could live without! I’m hoping to do a more in depth post of my favourite skincare products a little later on, but for now I’ll leave you with my most recent purchases from the best site on the interwebs…

To receive the Goody Bag, I purchased:

Zoeva Travel Mirror – because who doesn’t need one of those?

Nars Creamy Concealer in Custard – this is easily the best concealer I’ve ever used, it’s super creamy, blendable and brightens the under eye on those days when the dark circles just won’t shift.

Tan-Luxe The Face – I’ve read so may reviews on this tan and decided to give it a try. Containing skin boosting Vitamin E and Aloe Vera, you just add a few drops to your moisturiser. Anyone else ever just put body tan on their face..?

Alpha-H Liquid Gold – a resurfacing product that exfoliates and genuinely leaves my skin looking brighter.  It also really helps my spot prone skin.  I’m 31 and still get spots – WHY THO.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish – I’ve seen a number of huge bloggers rave about this, so decided to give it a try…I’ll keep you posted.

Tata Harper Glow Getter – this was a happy surprise, I use the regenerating cleanser from the range and when I went to purchase, I discovered you could get this set containing the cleanser and the resurfacing mask for a few dolla more than what the cleanser usually costs alone – yassssss.
